Description
From the book “The Collection: The Gothenburg Museum of Art”, Gothenburg 2014:
A goshawk has just returned to the nest with its prey, a hare, where its chicks immediately begin fighting over it. Even in the nest, life is a constant battle, where the one who seizes most food from its siblings will become the strongest and have the best chances of survival. Liljefors here has worked with contrasts on many different levels: between the dead hare and living hawks; between the chick’s soft feathers and sharp claws; between the total focus within the nest and blurred forest beyond.
