Description
For Bruno Liljefors, the struggle for survival was a central motif. Sometimes he related to the struggle as a passive observer. Other times he played the active role of the hunter. In this painting of a pack of scent dogs, the hunt is in full swing, but both the prey and the hunter are absent; only the tracks in the snow reveal the prey which the dogs are chasing. Somewhere a hunter is lying in wait.
