Description
"Ne #1" is part of Hannaleena Heiska’s suite "All these moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain". The starting point was the science-fiction film and cult classic Blade Runner (1982). The painting shows a dragon made of glowing neon tubes – part of the atmospheric scenery of a future Los Angeles, marked by cultural hybridization of Asian and European influences. The technique is gestural and transparent, and the paint seems to flow out like the blinking neon light in the rain.
