Description
Clay Ketter had a breakthrough in the mid-1990s with Wall Paintings, works made out of repainted plaster boards, covered with tape and putty. Since then he has continued to work with construction scenes in an abstract style. He shows human environments, but the humans are not shown. Despite the fact that Clay Ketter’s works are realistic and familiar, they also have an abstract quality. In Our Daily Bread from 2008, the kitchen sculpture is rigid and austere, there is no smell of cooking or spices, which you normally associate with the kitchen. The kitchens are real, but they are highly unusable.
