Description
Existential themes permeate the work of Sandra Ikse (born 1945). Ikse was one of those who chose to express her feminism through her work with textiles, appearing in a number of exhibitions in the 1970s. In the tapestry The Birth, she uses almost Symbolist imagery to show the child leaving the mother’s body. Kristoffer Arvidsson from The Collection Gothenburg Museum of Art, Gothenburg 2014
