Description
Existential themes permeate the work of Sandra Ikse (born 1945). Ikse was one of those who chose to express her feminism through her work with textiles, appearing in a number of exhibitions in the 1970s. In the tapestry The Birth, she uses almost Symbolist imagery to show the child leaving the mother’s body.
