The Düsseldorf Gallery (Room 12)

In this gallery, Nordic mid-19th-century painting is on display. The Düsseldorf Art Academy was an international art centre that attracted many Nordic artists, who developed a painting that often depicted national romantic landscapes with fantastic cliffs and waterfalls, as well as genre motifs of middle-class interiors or rustic scenes of peasant and popular life. Presented here are works by, among others, Fredrik Höckert, Amalia Lindegren and Kilian Zoll.
